Gilbert in as new MU women’s basketball coach
“After losing its last women’s basketball coach to a major college assistant position, Midland University plucked a major college assistant to fill the void.
On Monday, Midland announced the hiring of Shawn Gilbert as its next women’s basketball coach. Gilbert, a former head coach at Mount Mercy, comes to Fremont after serving four years as administrative assistant to Connie Yori at Nebraska. The 45-year old was in charge of the Huskers’ video operations (scouting) and ran Yori’s summer camp among other duties.
Still, when an opportunity came up to be a head coach again, Gilbert leapt at it.”
