Assistant Women’s Basketball Coach Job Description:

Serve as Assistant Varsity Coach of Women’s Basketball: assist with the development of recruiting plans in consultation with the Head Coach; following consultation with the Academic Affairs Advisor, identify and recommend prospective student-athletes and recruiting visits to the Head Coach; actively recruit and evaluate prospects; conduct recruitment visits; conduct recruitment competition evaluations and in-person visits to home, school, showcase camps and club competitions as per NCAA DIII (National Collegiate Athletics Association Division III) and UAA (University Athletics Association) regulations; assess prospective student-athletes skills/abilities and prepare written evaluations of prospective student-athletes for Head Coach’s review. Work collaboratively with the Head Coach to develop practice plans, strategies for upcoming contests, and player skills and conditioning programs. Develop and execute a segment(s) of each practice including presenting scouting reports on upcoming opponents; presenting a new defensive or offensive scheme; demonstrating or conducting player position drills and training. Assess strengths and weaknesses of NYU student-athletes and the athletes on opposing teams and develop strategies and tactics to assist the Head Coach in planning game strategy.

Additional Salary Information: There are two positions. One FT and one PT. The information above is for the FT position.

Requirements: Former College coaching or player experience preferred. Must be CPR/AED Certified or ability to get certified. Must have valid drivers license.
