Women’s Basketball Coach Job Description:

Delta State University is a proud member of NCAA Division II and the Gulf South Conference. The Head Women’s Basketball Coach will be responsible for the direction and oversight of the program and the coaching functions related to the sport of Women’s Basketball. These functions include, but are not limited to the following: coaching, recruiting, practice, game day preparation, alumni communication, fundraising and management of staff; managing budget, providing effective management of games and practices; supervising staff and establishing a strong working relationship with the University and surrounding community; follow NCAA, Gulf South Conference and university rules and regulations, developing athletes to achieve success on the court and in the classroom; organize and manage camps and clinics. Additional responsibilities to be assigned by the Director of Athletics.

Additional Salary Information: Commensurate with experience and qualifications

Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred.

Qualifications include the following: at least three to five years coaching experience, collegiate experience preferred; proven ability to lead and manage people; possess excellent written and verbal communication skills; demonstrated ability and success in teaching the skills and fundamentals of the sport; ability to organize and motivate student-athletes to maximum performance level in sports; academic achievements; proven experience in recruiting highly motivated and qualified student-athletes; and experience in budget management.
