Women’s Basketball Coach Job Description:

University of New Hampshire, an NCAA Division I member institution that competes in the America East Conference, is conducting a search for an Assistant Coach (2nd Assistant) for the women’s basketball program.

The main function of this position is to assist the Head Coach in all aspects of the women’s basketball program with a primary emphasis on talent assessment and recruitment of quality student-athletes. Specifically, this individual will represent the university on the highest professional level with dignity, integrity, and strength of character; set standards of behavior and conduct for student-athletes; know, recognize and comply with laws, policies, rules and regulations governing the university and the NCAA; ensure the highest academic performance of student–athletes and ensure their graduation; help to develop strong support from external constituencies, including alumni, parents, and the team’s booster group.

The position requires a bachelor’s degree and a successful background in coaching basketball, with one year of coaching experience. The successful candidate will also have demonstrated a commitment to promoting excellence to achieving ethnic, gender and cultural diversity. Additional preferred qualifications include: participation in collegiate basketball, including 2 or more years coaching collegiatebasketball, public relations skills a sense of humor and a positive attitude.
