Women’s Basketball Coach Job Ddescription:

Post University is an NCAA Division II institution and a member of the CACC Conference. The Head Coach provides leadership, vision, and strategic planning for their Post University Athletic Team. They manage all aspects of this intercollegiate athletic program which includes the management of academic success, budget, planning of constructive workouts, scheduling of opponents, and maintaining program integrity with respect to NCAA, CACC and Post University rules and regulations. The Head Coach also manages equipment ordering, travel planning, and fundraising. The Head Coach must have a strong commitment to following all Post University Policies and Procedures as they relate to athletic training, uniforms, equipment, finance reporting, and compliance. The head coach is responsible for recording and turning in all compliance paperwork in a timely manner, including but not limited to recruiting logs, financial aid/NLI request forms and playing and practice records.The recruitment of quality student-athletes is an essential responsibility of this position and the Head Coach needs to take ownership of the behavior of their student-athletes as members of the Post University community. Post University expects its student-athletes to represent the school in a positive manner at all times. The Head Coach and student-athletes are required to exhibit superior sportsmanship and set the example for a positive game environment at all times. The NCAA, CACC, and Post University sportsmanship guidelines and code of conduct must be adhered to at all times by the Head Coach.The Head Coach is also responsible for driving the team van to and from contests as well as pre-season practice or tournaments. Attendance is required at the annual athletic awards banquet, any CACC conference meetings, any and all all-star balloting or voting meetings, and all Post University Athletic Department meetings.

In addition to the above mentioned Athletic duties there will be occasions when the Head Coach will be required to help the University in peripheral areas such as graduation, open houses, accepted students day, and the athletic awards banquet. These occasions will be arranged with the Athletic Director as they occur.

As a Full Time Head Coach the candidate’s presence will be expected on campus in a full time capacity. You must keep regular and daily office hours during the normal operating hours of the University and be accessible throughout the day when needed by campus offices, students, or staff. In addition there could be instances where the Athletic Director asks the Head Coach to supervise an open field or open gym during the hours of 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The candidate should have a very flexible weekend schedule to accommodate both in season and out of season responsibilities.

The University does not permit the candidate to maintain full time employment outside the University and expect to do this job full time.

Additional duties can be assigned with discussion between the Director of Athletics and the Head Coach.

 

A bachelor’s degree is required. College coaching and recruiting experience is preferred and knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations is desired.Documents: Resume, cover letter, and the names and contact information of 3 references is needed.
