NOTICE OF POSITION VACANCY University of Illinois Division of Intercollegiate Athletics Extended

POSITION: Assistant Varsity Coach – Men’s Basketball 100%, Ten-month Academic Professional Appointment

DESCRIPTION: Assistant Coach will be responsible for, but not limited to identifying, evaluating, and recruiting student-athletes for the University of Illinois and assisting in all phases of the recruitment process; assist in pre-season, in-season, and post-season training, practice, games; assist in all areas as they relate to the operation of the basketball program; work compatibly and cooperatively with the staff and personnel in the Division of Intercollegiate Athletics; assist with the development of appropriate public relations and promotional activities as necessary; participate in continued development and implementation of the summer camp program; other duties as assigned by head coach. Knowledge of, and compliance with, specific NCAA, Big Ten Conference, and institution rules that relate to this position is required.

QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor’s degree required, master’s degree preferred; proven ability to recruit and select highly-skilled student athletes at the Division I level preferred; personal relation skills in dealing with student-athletes, peers, and the general public; computer literacy preferred. Minimum two years coaching experience at the Division I level preferred.

SALARY:Commensurate with experience and qualifications.

STARTING DATE: As negotiated after completion of search.
