Men’s Basketball Graduate Assistant Manager – 0404674

James Madison University, a Division I member of the NCAA and Colonial Athletic Association is seeking a Men’s Basketball Graduate Assistant Manager. Please note that this position is not a coaching position per NCAA rules and will report to the Head Men’s BasketballCoach. A full tuition waiver is available for the 2012-13 academic year to include up to 18 graduate credits. An assistantship stipend in the amount of $7,382 will also be provided. Assistantship dates are 8 months, approximately from August 25, 2012 – April 24, 2013 and may be renewed for the 2013-2014 academic year. Duties include but are not limited to: assisting the coaching staff and Director of Operations with administrative duties in regards to statistics during practices and games; coordinate filming of games; team travel; coordinate community service activities; travel with the team; and ensure compliance with NCAA, CAA and JMU regulations.

Bachelor’s degree required. Preference will be given to candidates with previous collegiate playing/coaching experience and a working knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations. It is important for applicants to have strong organizational skills and the ability to communicate effectively and work well with students, parents, faculty, staff and the community. Possessing a demonstrated commitment to high academic standards for student-athletes and their ability to succeed both academically and athletically is essential. Candidates must meet university qualifications for enrollment to graduate school. It is highly recommended that candidates apply for graduate admission at the time you submit your application.
